Stroke Care

A stroke can change life in an instant. The days and weeks that follow are critical, and where you recover matters. At Dovida, we provide compassionate, person-centered in-home care that supports stroke survivors through every stage of recovery, helping them regain independence, rebuild confidence, and return to living life their way.

About Stroke Care

Nearly 800,000 Americans experience a stroke each year, making it one of the leading causes of long-term disability in the country. The good news is that recovery is possible at every stage. Research consistently shows that the right support, especially in the early months, significantly improves outcomes. And for many stroke survivors, recovering at home, in a familiar and comfortable environment, produces better results than institutional settings.

A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, causing brain cells to lose oxygen and begin to die. The effects vary widely depending on which part of the brain is affected — and so does the path to recovery. Some people make a full recovery; for others, rehabilitation is a longer journey.

How Stroke Care works

The transition from hospital or rehab facility back to home is one of the most vulnerable moments in stroke recovery. Dovida can be there from day one of your return, providing a steady, familiar presence that supports your rehabilitation goals and reduces the risk of complications or re-admission.

We work closely with your discharge team, neurologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to make sure your care at home complements the clinical work being done — not just filling in gaps, but actively supporting your progress.
